Since starting my copywriting business (many moons ago), my client base has shifted from mainly SMEs to large corporate clients.

As a result, the type of work I do has also changed.

As a freelancer, there is no way I could take on the critical marketing role in a corporate. In fact, most will farm this out to the large marketing agencies. That’s why the most frequent conversation I have with representatives from corporates is about their other content needs.

Corporates need content help. Fact.

When you hear the word copywriter, you probably immediately associate it with web copy, brochure content, advertisements, and that sort of thing. Of course, I can do all of that, but for my corporate clients, the demand is slightly different.

Every department within a corporate needs content. Whether its articles, though-leadership pieces, internal communications, case studies, White Papers or reports, they all need writing and they all take time. That is time that’s not usually available (also, the right skills are missing leading to poorly written literature).

That’s where I come in.

Rather than a ‘marketer’, my role is more of a content specialist.

My expertise removes the burden of content generation from already overstretched teams.

It’s my job to interview subject matter experts to create thought-provoking articles. I research and create specific product/service brochures. I’ll take on the burden of creating White Papers and reports. I will even re-purpose existing content to create fresh articles for a whole new audience.

Working in this way, my corporate clients always have an experienced pair of hands waiting in the wings to swoop in and take their content headaches away.

Everyone wins.

I know this isn’t my usual type of post. Still, it is relevant to many companies and something that is usually not considered because they didn’t realise this resource is available.

Therefore, I feel it my duty to resolve that.

If you’re looking for an extra pair of hands, get in touch for a chat. You can tell me the issues you and your teams are facing, and I’ll come up with some suggestions as to how I can solve them for you.
