Come on, what’s your excuse? use social media

  • Haven’t got the time?
  • Don’t understand it?
  • Don’t want to waste your time talking about what you had for lunch?

But surely you want to find new ways to:

  • Promote your business
  • Talk to your customers
  • Build relationships
  • Add value to your customers

Well, that’s where social media comes in. It’s not a waste of time, it’s a fast and effective way of getting in touch with, engaging with and talking to  your customers.

You may think that good old fashioned face-to-face networking will bring in all the new customers you need, but what about the ones that don’t attend the same events as you? What about the ones in other countries? How will you reach them?

But social media isn’t just about extending your reach to bring in new clients, it’s also about retaining and engaging existing customers.

Everyone knows it costs about 6 times more to get a new customers than it does retain an existing one, so maintaining high levels of customer service is essential. And that’s where social media comes into its own.

It provides an instant way for customers to get in touch with you and a way for you to interact with them that hasn’t been possible before.

You can give your Facebook fans a special offer, update them about your business and what’s happening, ask their opinions and gauge their interest in potential new products and services you’re thinking about offering. Whatever you do, social media will help you develop strong relations with your customers.

If you’re not convinced, perhaps this will change your mind (The Business Success Team):

  • Social media users’ revenue grew at 19% whereas non-social media users’ only grew at 6%
  • The client base of social media users grew at 12%
  • 61% of LinkedIn users gained a client through social media
  • 35% of Facebook users gained a client
  • 47% of blog owners gained clients
  • 36% overall gained clients through a social network

You can’t avoid it, social media is here to stay.

If you haven’t started, now’s the time to get on board.
