3 Things You Must Know About Content Marketing
June 20th 2013 Sally Ormond content marketing, creating content, valuable contentContent marketing is the production and publication of interesting, relevant and valuable content that’s targeted at a specific audience.
Why is it something that everyone should be doing?
Well, because once you’ve engaged with your audience, the content will encourage them to take a specific action, such as click through to your website or sign up for a newsletter.
But to ensure you’re content marketing is effective you must:
Writing your content in the second person (you) will create a conversation style that is easy to engage with. It also happens to be the best way to get your ideas across to your reader.
Then you must make sure that whatever you write gives them something they can use – a tip, advice, or a general take-away that they can put into action immediately. But it must be of value to them.
Lastly, it must be written clearly using wording they will understand. If your content is full of jargon it won’t get read. Keep your writing simple and clear.
That’s pretty much it.
Give it a try and see how you get on. But remember, every blog and article you write must follow these 3 principles.
